Let me show you how what I can do to help and improve your writing with a sample edit. Send me 2,500 words (roughly ten pages) of your books; once you see how my changes and suggestions improve the pacing and flow of your prose, I am certain that you will want to learn more.  
 

THE MANUSCRIPT CRITIQUE 

The Manuscript Critique can be beneficial for any writer, but is especially useful for authors who aren’t quite on their final draft or have reached a block in their progress. You know that your work isn’t quite where you want it to be, but you aren’t sure what to you need to do to get it there. I will read your manuscript and offer professional, detailed advice on what you need to do to make it better—in terms of plot, character, pacing, voice, and style—which I will present in an organized editorial memo at least five pages in length.
 

THE DEVELOPMENTAL OR LINE EDIT

The Developmental or Line Edit is the most interventionist and detailed editing option available, and is recommended for authors whose manuscripts are close to being in their final draft. In The Developmental Edit, I will mark up your pages, changing words and phrases, and making structural suggestions. While I will pay attention to the same things I do in The Manuscript Critique—plot, structure, character, etc.—I will also pay even greater attention to the prose of your book—in particular, word usage, voice, pacing, and flow. I will also present my advice on what you need to do to improve the overall clarity and consistency of your book in an editorial memo of at least five pages in length.
 

THE COPYEDIT 

Typically done after The Developmental or Line Edit, The Copyedit does not address the content or substance of your book. Rather, The Copyedit is focused on correcting any errors—be they spelling, grammatical, punctuation, an inconsistent timeline, or linguistic—to ensure that your finished book is polished and professional.
 

THE PROOFREAD 

The Proofread is the final stage in the editing process and functions like a less intensive copyedit. The Proofread will ensure that no misspellings, omitted words, or grammatical errors appear in your book.
